The developer advocates at Google have just announced the open-source release of LiquidFun a “2D rigid-body and fluid simulation C++ library for games based upon Box2D.” Along with that Google made the announcement on their official Android developers’ blog that they are adding support for Unity developers in the addition of a Google Play Services plug-in for Unity.
Why may you ask all these sudden game based announcements? Well as Wolff Dobson stated in the “Game On” video introducing LiquidFun, “Because we want to make games better. We want to make people’s games awesome.” Could this give Android the competitive edge in the mobile gaming market? Only time and sore thumbs can tell.
